In their opening game, Muirhead defeated Ying Yang (Harbin, CHN) 7-1, then won 6-2 against Anna Hasselborg (Sundbyberg, SWE). Muirhead went on to lose 7-6 against Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN). Muirhead responded with a 10-3 win over Yang. Muirhead went on to lose 7-2 against Hasselborg. Muirhead responded with a 5-2 win over Fujisawa in their final qualifying round match.
