Ballance finished 2-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ballance lost 10-2 to Kobylnyk, then responded with a 2-1 win over Kenan Wipf (Calgary, AB). Ballance won 7-6 against Michael Keenan (Black Diamond, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
