Qiang Zou (Beijing, CHN) finished 8-0 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Zou defeated SooHyuk Kim (Seoul, KOR) 8-6, then won 10-3 against Jason Chang (Hong Kong, HKG) and 9-2 against Randie Shen (Taipei, TPE). Zou won 9-5 against Yuta Matsumura (Sapporo, JPN), then won 9-5 against Viktor Kim (Almaty, KAZ) and 13-1 against Nassar Alyafei (Doha, QAT). Zou won 8-6 against Scott Becker (Naseby, NZL), then won 8-6 against Jay Merchant (Sydney, AUS) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Pacific-Asia Curling Championships, Zou take home 19.594 world rankings points. Zou move up 14 spots after posting a net gain of 17.001 points improving upon their best 5 results so far this season, ranking 52nd overall with 80.721 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Zou ranks 41st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 52.573 points earned so far this season.
