Korte finished 3-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Korte lost 6-4 to Mike Armstrong (Regina, SK), then responded with a 7-4 win over Shawn Meyer (Regina, SK). Korte won 11-4 against Tyson Armstrong (Lashburn, SK), then won 9-0 against Dustin Kalthoff (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
