Benj Guzman (Wayland, MA) run at the 2018 GNCC Club Playdowns came to an end in the semifinals with a 10-1 loss to Edward Scimia (Bridgeport, CT). of the 2018 GNCC Club Playdowns in Rochester, New York;
 
Guzman finished 5-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Guzman defeated Matthew Pring (Philadephia, PA) 6-5, then won 10-0 against Mark Andrews (Rochester, NY) and 9-4 against Joseph Calabrese (Rochester, NY). Guzman won 8-3 against Mark Mooney (Plainfield, NJ), then won 12-5 against Jeremy Hozjan (Charlotte, NC). Guzman went on to lose 8-5 against Dion Warr (Schenectady, NY) in their final qualifying round match.
 
. For week of the event schedule, Guzman did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Guzman ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
