Brandon Corbett (Rochester, NY) finished 6-3 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Corbett lost 12-5 to Kevin Kakela (Hansboro, ND), then responded with a 7-1 win over Jared Allen (Blaine, MN). Corbett went on to lose 8-7 against Stephen Imes (Columbus, OH). Corbett responded with a 8-2 win over Mike Siggins (Tempe, AZ). Corbett won 7-3 against Daniel Brown (Madison, WI), then won 7-5 against Craig Nicko (Blaine, MN) and 8-6 against Sean Beighton (Madison, WI). Corbett won 6-4 against Jason Smith (Blaine, MN). Corbett went on to lose 9-8 against Jed Brundidge (St. Paul, SD) in their final qualifying round match.

Corbett earned 3.713 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 71 spots the World Ranking Standings into 266th place overall with 7.322 total points. Corbett ranks 265th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 5.389 points earned so far this season.
