Nicholas Steinhaus (Mapleton, MN) finished 4-3 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Steinhaus lost 7-3 to Stephen Imes (Columbus, OH), then responded with a 11-0 win over Clayton Griffin (Roswell, GA). Steinhaus went on to lose 6-3 against Jed Brundidge (St. Paul, SD). Steinhaus responded with a 10-0 win over Jared Allen (Blaine, MN). Steinhaus won 13-6 against Kevin Kakela (Hansboro, ND), then won 7-2 against Imes. Steinhaus went on to lose 8-6 against Jason Smith (Blaine, MN) in their final qualifying round match.

Steinhaus earned 2.475 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 21 of the event schedule, Steinhaus did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 370th to 379th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 2.793 total points. Steinhaus ranks 418th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 1.119 points earned so far this season.
