Patric Mabergs (Goteborg, SWE) finished 2-3 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mabergs defeated Michael Raab (Djursholms, SWE) 8-0, then went on to lose 7-3 against Fredrik Nyman (Stockholm, SWE). Mabergs lost 8-3 to Goran Carlsson (Linkoping, SWE) where Mabergs responded with a 9-6 win over Per Forsberg (Bortnansfisk, SWE). Mabergs went on to lose 6-5 against Daniel Magnusson (Karlstad, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.

Mabergs earned 2.757 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 25 spots the World Ranking Standings into 237th place overall with 9.780 total points. Mabergs ranks 324th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 2.757 points earned so far this season.
