Carss lost 8-7 to Mike Armstrong (Regina, SK) where Carss responded with a 6-2 win over Jeff Hartung (Langenburg, SK). Carss went on to lose 4-1 against Brent Gedak (Estevan, SK) in their final qualifying round match.

Carss earned 1.814 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 15 spots the World Ranking Standings into 233rd place overall with 10.079 total points. Carss ranks 216th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 9.544 points earned so far this season.
