In their opening game, McCloskey lost 6-4 to Sarah Fullerton (Charlottetown, PEI), droppimg another game, 7-2 to Lisa Jackson (Charlottetown, PEI) where McCloskey responded with a 7-5 win over Tammy Dewar (Montague, PEI). McCloskey went on to lose 8-1 against Melissa Morrow (Summerside, PEI) in their final qualifying round match.

McCloskey earned 0.338 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 286th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 0.193 after improving upon their best so far this season.
