After advancing directly to the championship game, Veronica Smith (Charlottetown, PEI) lost 10-4 to Suzanne Birt (Charlottetown, PEI) in the Final of the PEI Scotties, held January 9 - 13, 2019 in Alberton, Prince Edward Island.
 
Smith finished 5-2 in the 7-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Smith defeated Lisa Jackson (Charlottetown, PEI) 8-5, then won 7-5 against Sarah Fullerton (Charlottetown, PEI) and 8-2 against Melissa Morrow (Summerside, PEI). Smith won 7-6 against Birt. Smith went on to lose 4-3 against Fullerton. Smith responded with a 10-3 win over Morrow. Smith went on to lose 9-7 against Birt in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the PEI Scotties, Smith take home 4.950 world rankings points. Smith move up 3 spots after posting a net gain of 2.144 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 99th overall with 37.254 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Smith ranks 100th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 31.643 points earned so far this season.
