Desmond Young (Edmonton, AB) needed a tiebreaker to advance to the playoffs, Young finished 5-5 in the 13-team qualifying round. . . Young lost 10-3 to JT Ryan (Winnipeg, MB), then responded with a 10-9 win over Graeme Weagle (Chester, NS). Young went on to lose 9-6 against Tanner Horgan (Sudbury, NONT). Young responded with a 9-5 win over Vincent Roberge (Levis, QC) in their final qualifying round match.

Young earned 7.152 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 24 of the event schedule, Young did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Young ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
