Daiki Shikano (Sapporo, JPN) finished 5-3 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Shikano lost 10-5 to Naomasa Takeda (Sapporo, JPN), droppimg another game, 8-4 to Masaki Iwai (Sapporo, JPN) where Shikano responded with a 9-8 win over Hayato Matsumura (Karuizawa, JPN). Shikano won 8-7 against Juon Ishimura (Aomori, JPN), then won 6-4 against Junpei Kanda (Tokyo, JPN). Shikano went on to lose 6-2 against Yuta Matsumura (Sapporo, JPN). Shikano responded with a 9-1 win over Yasuhiro Morita (Kyoto, JPN). Shikano won 11-2 against Tomonori Matsuzawa (Sapporo, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

Shikano earned 5.195 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 173 spots the World Ranking Standings into 274th place overall with 6.503 total points. Shikano ranks 274th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 6.503 points earned so far this season.
