DeVore went on to lose 4-2 against Paul Pustovar (Hibbing, MN). DeVore responded with a 9-1 win over Dave Foley (Pewaukee, WI). DeVore won 7-1 against Gert Messing (Ballston Lake, NY), then won 7-4 against Jeff Wright (Libertyville, IL) and 5-4 against Pustovar. DeVore went on to lose 6-3 against Goodland. DeVore responded with a 8-7 win over Lyle Sieg (Blaine, WA) in their final qualifying round match.
