Berg went on to lose 10-2 against Siggins. Berg lost 9-1 to Dan Schally (McFarland, WI) where Berg responded with a 9-4 win over John Shoesmith (Seattle, WA). Berg won 13-5 against Ivaylo Petrov (Plainfield, NJ), then won 9-4 against Andy Turner (Columbus, OH) and 9-6 against Leclair. Berg won 10-1 against Mark Willmert (St. Paul, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
