Schwaller finished 4-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Schwaller defeated Fredrik Nyman (Stockholm, SWE) 7-2, then won 9-2 against Yves Wagenseil (Bern, SUI) and 4-3 against Ross Paterson (Glasgow, SCO). Schwaller won 6-5 against Sebastian Wunderer (Kitzbuehel, AUT) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Baden Masters Championship title, Schwaller earned 51.638 world rankings points along with the $14,919CDN first prize cheque, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 12th place overall with 283.686 total points.
