Jacobs finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Jacobs lost 9-4 to Bottcher, then responded with a 6-3 win over Jason Gunnlaugson (Winnipeg, MB). Jacobs won 6-3 against Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI), then won 7-2 against Matt Dunstone (Regina , SK) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Kioti Tractor Tour Challenge Tier 1 Championship title, Jacobs earned 81.085 world rankings points along with the $30,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 2nd place overall with 495.895 total points.
