Jeff Richard (Kelowna, BC) needed a tiebreaker to advance to the playoffs, Richard finished 2-2 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Richard defeated Yuta Matsumura (Kitami, JPN) 8-5, then went on to lose 6-4 against Daniel Wenzek (New Westminster, BC). Richard lost 6-4 to Neil Dangerfield ( Victoria, BC) where Richard responded with a 8-0 win over Dayne Gagnon (Abbotsford, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
