Jeff Richard (Kelowna, BC) needed a tiebreaker to advance to the playoffs, Richard finished 2-2 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Richard defeated Yuta Matsumura (Kitami, JPN) 8-5, then went on to lose 6-4 against Daniel Wenzek (New Westminster, BC). Richard lost 6-4 to Neil Dangerfield ( Victoria, BC) where Richard responded with a 8-0 win over Dayne Gagnon (Abbotsford, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Richard earned 2.126 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 12 of the event schedule, Richard did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
