Sturmay responded with a 8-4 win over Daylan Vavrek (Sexsmith, AB) to advance to a B-Qualifier game where they lost 7-6 against Dominik Maerki (Chaska, MN) to drop into a C-Qualifier game where they lost 7-5 to Jeff Richard (Kelowna, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Sturmay earned 5.830 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 24th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of -14.34 after improving upon their best so far this season. Sturmay ranks 33rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 81.607 points earned so far this season.
