In their opening game, Rowsell lost 4-1 to James Grattan (Oromocto, NB), then responded with a 6-3 win over Brent MacDougall (Halifax, NS). Rowsell went on to lose 9-5 against Kendal Thompson (Halifax, NS). Rowsell responded with a 8-3 win over Ed Cyr (Fredericton, NB). Rowsell went on to lose 8-5 against Nova Scotia's Andrew Gibson in their final qualifying round match.

Rowsell earned 1.902 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 13 spots the World Ranking Standings into 214th place overall with 11.606 total points. Rowsell ranks 166th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 6.701 points earned so far this season.
