In their opening game, Retornaz defeated Marc Strasser (Bern, SUI) 8-2, then won 7-2 against Marco Hoesli (Glarus, SUI) and 7-4 against Daniel Magnusson (Karlstad, SWE) to advance to the A-Qualifier where they 8-6 against Thomas Ulsrud (Oppdal, NOR) to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Grand Prix Bern Inter Curling Challenge Championship title, Retornaz earned 29.999 world rankings points along with the $6,637CDN first prize cheque. Retornaz move up 11 spots after posting a net gain of 23.081 points improving upon their best 5 results so far this season, ranking 27th overall with 136.916 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
