Timo Daniel (Laufen, SUI) 10-2, then won 8-7 against Simon Gempeler (Adelboden, SUI) and 8-4 against Jan Hess (Zug, SUI) to advance to a A-Qualifier game where they lost 8-6 against Joel Retornaz (Pinerolo, ITA). Ulsrud responded with a 10-5 win over Alberto Pimpini (Turin, ITA) to advance to a B-Qualifier game where they lost 8-2 against Hess to drop into a C-Qualifier game where they responded with a 6-4 win over Felix Attinger (Dubendorf, SUI) to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.
