John Shuster (Duluth, USA) won 8-6 over Rich Ruohonen (Minneapolis, USA) in the Final of the USA Curling National Championship, held February 8 - 15, 2020 in Spokane, Washington.
 
Shuster finished 9-0 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Shuster defeated Dominik Maerki (Chaska, MN) 8-3, then won 10-1 against Steven Birklid (Mountlake Terrace, WA) and 7-4 against Ruohonen. Shuster won 8-4 against Todd Birr (Ham Lake, MN), then won 10-9 against Korey Dropkin (Chaska, USA) and 9-3 against Kyle Kakela (Rolla, ND). Shuster won 8-3 against Chase Sinnett (Medfield, MA), then won 1-0 against Jed Brundidge (West St. Paul, MN) and 7-4 against Scott Dunnam (Philadelphia, PA) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the USA Curling National Championship Championship title, Shuster earned 46.683 world rankings points. Shuster move up 7 spots after posting a net gain of 42.143 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 19th overall with 181.864 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Shuster ranks 19th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 181.864 points earned so far this season.
