To advance to the championship game, Gill/Hewitt won 8-2 over Dorottya Palancsa/Zsolt Kiss (Budapest, HUN) in the semifinals of the 2020 Sutherland Mixed Doubles Curling Classic in Saskatoon; and won 9-5 over Jill de Gooijer/Garret Springer (Regina, SK) in the quarterfinals. of the 2020 Sutherland Mixed Doubles Curling Classic in Saskatoon;

Gill/Hewitt finished 3-0 in the 25-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gill/Hewitt defeated Suyuan Fan/Jiawen Nan (Beijing, CHN) 10-3, then won 7-5 against Hui Yan/Cheng Kuo (Beijing, CHN) and 6-4 against Nancy Martin/Brady Scharback (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Sutherland Mixed Doubles Curling Classic, Gill/Hewitt take home 19.774 world rankings points along with the $1,100CDN prize, remaining in 668th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 89.007 total points. Gill/Hewitt ranks 20th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 84.316 points earned so far this season.
