Hui Yan/Cheng Kuo (Beijing, CHN) finished 2-3 in the 21-team qualifying round. . Yan/Kuo went on to lose 6-5 against Saskatchewan's Danielle Schmiemann/Jason Ginter. Yan/Kuo responded with a 6-5 win over Nicole Westlund Stewart/Tyler Stewart (Ayr, ON). Yan/Kuo went on to lose 10-5 against Cheng Yu Sun/Wen Xin Zhang (Beijing, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.

Yan/Kuo earned 3.936 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 668th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 2.092 after improving upon their best so far this season. Yan/Kuo ranks 33rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 63.736 points earned so far this season.
