Wright/Hardie finished 4-1 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Wright/Hardie lost 7-5 to Sophie Sinclair/Duncan Menzies (Stirling, SCO), then responded with a 8-3 win over Naomi Brown/Michael Goodfellow (Stirling, SCO).
