James Ballance (Okotokes, AB) won 5-2 over Kyler Kurina (Calgary, AB) in the Final of the North Hill Thanksgiving U18 Bonspiel, held October 10 - 13, 2019 at the North Hill Curling Club in Calgary, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Ballance won 11-4 over Marcus Sawiak (Sherwood Park, AB) in the semifinals
 
Ballance are currently 1-0 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ballance defeated Wyatt Wright (Cochrane, AB) 7-5. In their next game, Ballance plays Kurina on Saturday at 1:30pm and Alberta's Ben Kiist at 8:30pm.
