Northern Ontario's Tom Tod responded with a 8-7 win over New Brunswick's Harold Mabey Jr.. Northern Ontario's Tom Tod went on to lose 10-7 against Manitoba's Don Duguid. Northern Ontario's Tom Tod responded with a 12-6 win over Prince Edward Island's Arthur Burke. Northern Ontario's Tom Tod won 9-8 against Newfoundland / Labrador's Les Bowering, then won 12-5 against Nova Scotia's Ron Franklin in their final qualifying round match.
