To advance to the championship game, Hernandez Berenguer won 8-3 over Gontzal Garcia (Iparpolo, ESP) in the semifinals
Hernandez Berenguer finished 5-4 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hernandez Berenguer defeated Xavier Campos (Puigcerda, ESP) 14-1, then won 9-7 against Maximo Calvo (Harrikada, ESP) and 9-3 against Raul Garcia G. (Pisuerga, ESP). Hernandez Berenguer went on to lose 10-6 against Garcia. Hernandez Berenguer responded with a 10-5 win over Ignacio Galdeano (Pisuerga, ESP).
