Oihane Otaegi (San Sebastien, ESP) finished 4-5 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Otaegi lost 11-4 to Veronica Zappone (Pinerolo, ITA), then responded with a 10-9 win over Marta Pluta (Gliwice, POL). Otaegi won 8-6 against Dorottya Palancsa (Budapest, HUN), then won 6-2 against Lisa Farnell (Kent, ENG). Otaegi went on to lose 5-4 against Gabriela Kajanova (Bratislava, SVK). Otaegi lost 10-5 to Elina Virtaala (Hyvinkaa, FIN) where Otaegi responded with a 8-1 win over Lithuania's Asta Vaicekonyte. Otaegi went on to lose 6-4 against Marharyta Dziashuk (Minsk, BLR). Otaegi lost 11-7 to Dilsat Yildiz (Eruzurum, TUR) in their final qualifying round match.

Otaegi earned 4.168 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 36 spots the World Ranking Standings into 191st place overall with 6.591 total points. Otaegi ranks 173rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 4.168 points earned so far this season.
