Greg Balsdon (Montreal, QC) finished 4-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Balsdon defeated Michel Lachance (Sept-Iles, QC) 7-1, then won 9-3 against Sylvain Bellavance (Boucherville, QC) and 6-4 against Frederic Lawton (Baie d'Urfe, QC). Balsdon won 10-2 against Scott Hill (Ormstown, QC) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Quebec Tankard Qualifier Championship title, Balsdon earned 10.688 world rankings points. For week 21 of the event schedule, Balsdon did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Balsdon ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
