Joel Retornaz (Pinerolo, ITA) qualified for the 2020 Aberdeen International Curling Championship playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-5 against Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI). of the 2020 Aberdeen International Curling Championship in Aberdeen, Scotland;

Retornaz finished 3-2 in the 17-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Retornaz defeated Robert Fawns (Aberdeen, SCO) 7-5, then won 8-3 against Daniel Magnusson (Karlstad, SWE). Retornaz went on to lose 6-3 against Ross Whyte (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
