John Willsey (Waterloo, ON) finished 3-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Willsey defeated Rylan Hartley (Brantford, ON) 7-5, then went on to lose 7-6 against Steve Allen (Ottawa, ON). Willsey lost 8-6 to Sam Steep (St. Catherines, ON) where Willsey responded with a 6-2 win over Hartley. Willsey won 7-3 against Richard Krell (Kitchener-Waterloo, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the CurlON Men's Cash Spiel Championship title, Willsey earned 19.988 world rankings points along with the $2,800CDN first prize cheque, moving up 11 spots the World Ranking Standings into 42nd place overall with 112.603 total points. Willsey ranks 61st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 62.734 points earned so far this season.
