Johnson Tao (Richmond, BC) lost 9-3 to Hayato Sato (Royal City, BC) in the Final of the BC Junior Mens Provincial Championship, held December 28 - January 2, 2020 in Victoria, British Columbia. To advance to the championship game, Tao won 11-6 over Erik Colwell (Vernon, BC) in the semifinals of the 2020 BC Junior Mens Provincial Championship in Victoria, British Columbia;
 
Tao finished 6-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Tao defeated Colorado Marr (Kamloops, BC) 10-3, then went on to lose 8-3 against Sato. Tao responded with a 10-2 win over Thomas Reed (Royal City, BC). Tao won 8-7 against Dawson Ballard (Langley, BC), then won 8-5 against Brayden Carpenter (Tunnel Town, BC) and 6-4 against Chris Parkinson (Nanaimo, BC). Tao won 8-6 against Colwell in their final qualifying round match.
