Andrew Symonds (St. John's, NL) lost 8-2 to Trent Skanes (St. John's, NL) in the Final of the Centennial Spiel, held January 2 - 5, 2020 in St. John, Newfoundland / Labrador. To advance to the championship game, Symonds won 8-6 over Nathan Young (St. John's, NL) in the semifinals of the 2020 Centennial Spiel in St. John, Newfoundland / Labrador; and won 7-4 over Greg Smith (St. John's , NL) in the quarterfinals. of the 2020 Centennial Spiel in St. John, Newfoundland / Labrador;

Symonds finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Symonds defeated Rick Rowsell (St. John's, NL) 8-2, then won 6-5 against Ken Peddigrew (St. John's, NL) and 8-5 against Shawnessey Gallagher (St. John's, NL). Symonds won 7-2 against Young in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Centennial Spiel, Symonds take home 7.542 world rankings points along with the $1,200CDN prize, moving up 34 spots the World Ranking Standings into 155th place overall with 21.365 total points. Symonds ranks 143rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 19.265 points earned so far this season.
