Steven Birklid (Mountlake Terrace, WA) needed a tiebreaker to advance to the playoffs, Birklid finished 4-3 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Birklid lost 8-6 to Kevin Kakela (Rolla, ND), then responded with a 7-3 win over Ryan Spielman (South Beloit, IL). Birklid won 8-0 against Nick Myers (Arlington, TX), then won 8-1 against Chase Sinnett (Medfield, MA). Birklid went on to lose 10-6 against Nicholas Connolly (Seattle, WA). Birklid responded with a 10-6 win over Erik Jensen (Oakland, CA). Birklid went on to lose 11-1 against Dominik Maerki (Fayetteville, AR) in their final qualifying round match.

Birklid earned 5.850 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the USA Men's Challenge Round. For week 24 of the event schedule, Birklid did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Birklid ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
