Jones/Everist finished 6-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Jones/Everist defeated Taylour Stevens/Graeme Weagle (Chester, NS) 9-5, then won 7-0 against Colleen Jones/Luke Saunders (Halifax, NS) and 7-4 against Brigitte MacPhail/Paul Dexter (Halifax, NS). Jones/Everist won 6-5 against Tracy Dobson/Jeffrey Meagher (Halifax, NS), then won 8-2 against Christina Black/Graham Breckon (Halifax, NS) and 8-0 against Jones/Saunders. Jones/Everist went on to lose 6-3 against Baxter/Manuel in their final qualifying round match.
