Gushue won 7-4 against Nathan Young (St. John's, NL), then won 9-1 against Colin Thomas (St. John's, NL) and 8-0 against Greg Smith (St. John's , NL). Gushue won 10-2 against Dave Thomas (Channel-Port aux Basques, NL), then won 7-4 against Mark Noseworthy (St. John's, NL) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Newfoundland & Labrador Tankard Championship title, Gushue earned 11.025 world rankings points, remaining in 3rd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 0.33699999999999 after improving upon their best so far this season. Gushue ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 320.844 points earned so far this season.
