To advance to the championship game, Schulze won 7-1 over Heinz Gerber (Thun, SUI) in the semifinals of the 2020 Winter World Masters Games - Mixed in Innsbruck, Austria; and won 10-1 over Matthew Pring (Philadelphia, USA) in the quarterfinals.

In their opening game, Schulze defeated Ueli Hirt (Thun, SUI) 7-4, then won 10-1 against Christopher Mina (San Francisco, USA) and 6-5 against Pring.
