Matthew Hall (Kitchener, ON) finished 4-1 in the 11-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hall defeated Damien Villard (Cambridge, ON) 8-0, then won 7-5 against Wayne Tuck Jr. (Brantford, ON) and 8-3 against Tyler Stewart (Waterloo, ON). Hall went on to lose 7-6 against Mark Kean (London, ON). Hall responded with a 7-6 win over Stewart in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Ontario Tankard - Open Qualifier, Hall take home 14.175 world rankings points, moving up 21 spots the World Ranking Standings into 94th place overall with 49.023 total points.
