Sayaka Yoshimura (Sapporo, JPN) run at the 2020 Japan National Championship came to an end in the semifinals with a 10-4 loss to Seina Nakajima (Nagano, JPN). of the 2020 Japan National Championship in Karuizawa, Japan, Japan;

Yoshimura finished 6-2 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Yoshimura defeated Tori Koana (Yamanashi, JPN) 6-5, then won 8-4 against Shinobu Aota (Aomori, JPN) and 9-3 against Honoka Sasaki (Sapporo, JPN). Yoshimura went on to lose 8-1 against Nakajima. Yoshimura responded with a 12-1 win over Yuki Shibuto (Hiroshima, JPN). Yoshimura won 9-4 against Shiori Fujisawa (Karuizawa, JPN). Yoshimura went on to lose 5-4 against Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN). Yoshimura responded with a 9-4 win over Yumiko Kashiwagi (Karuizawa, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.

Yoshimura earned 24.730 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Japan National Championship. For week 30 of the event schedule, Yoshimura did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Yoshimura ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
