In their opening game, Carson defeated Ross Whyte (Stirling, SCO) 8-7, then went on to lose 5-4 against Cameron McNay (Lockerbie, SCO). Carson lost 10-3 to Murray Young (Forfar, SCO). Carson lost 12-5 to Cameron Bryce (Kelso, SCO). Carson lost 9-4 to Glen Muirhead (Perth, SCO). Carson lost 8-2 to Bruce Mouat (Edinburgh, SCO). Carson lost 9-3 to Ross Paterson (Glasgow, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.

Carson earned 2.661 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins.
