Matthew Manuel (Halifax, NS) lost 8-5 to Matthew Hall (Waterloo, ON) in the Final of the USPORTS - University Curling Championships, held March 11 - 15, 2020 in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. To advance to the championship game, Manuel won 7-5 over Karsten Sturmay (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2020 USPORTS - University Curling Championships in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba;

Manuel finished 5-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Manuel defeated Nicholas Lemieux (St. Catharines, ON) 11-3, then won 10-8 against Mitchell Katcher (Brandon, MB) and 9-2 against Dylan Niepage (Guelph, ON). Manuel won 8-6 against Daniel Bruce (St. John's, NL), then won 8-2 against Ryan Grabarczyk (Regina, SK). Manuel went on to lose 6-4 against Sturmay. Manuel lost 5-4 to Hall in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the USPORTS - University Curling Championships, Manuel take home 16.459 world rankings points. For week 34 of the event schedule, Manuel did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Manuel ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
