In their opening game, van Amsterdam defeated Jacob Reid (Sault Ste Marie, ON) 10-3, then went on to lose 7-5 against Shurtleff. van Amsterdam responded with a 8-3 win over Oake. van Amsterdam went on to lose 10-2 against Charlie Richard (London, ON). van Amsterdam responded with a 10-3 win over Kurtwood McGuire (Thunder Bay, ON). van Amsterdam won 13-9 against Andrew Manson (Calgary, AB), then won 8-6 against Carter Babij (Vermillion, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Championship Championship title, van Amsterdam earned 16.031 world rankings points.
