Sturmay finished 5-1 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sturmay defeated Janais DeJong (Grande Prairie, AB) 7-2, then went on to lose 5-3 against Eun ji Gim (Uijeongbu, KOR). Sturmay responded with a 7-3 win over Lorraine Schneider (Regina, SK). Sturmay won 8-5 against Rebecca Morrison (GB, GBR), then won 7-1 against Robyn Silvernagle (North Battleford, SK) to advance to the B-Qualifier where they 6-0 against Corryn Brown (Kamloops, BC) to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.
 
Sturmay earned 27.986 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Vesta Energy Red Deer Curling Classic. Sturmay move up 5 spots after posting a net gain of 17.038 points improving upon their best 3 results so far this season, ranking 51st overall with 72.340 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Sturmay ranks 27th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 56.476 points earned so far this season.
