Kody Hartung (Saskatoon, SK) run at the 2021 Vesta Energy Curling Classic came to an end in the semifinals with a 5-4 loss to Colton Flasch (Saskatoon, SK).  of the 2021 Vesta Energy Curling Classic in Red Deer, Alberta; Hartung advanced through the quarterfinals with a 8-4 win over Yuta Matsumura (Sapporo, JPN).  of the 2021 Vesta Energy Curling Classic in Red Deer, Alberta; 
 
Hartung finished 5-1 in the 26-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hartung defeated Scott Webb (Grande Prairie, AB) 6-0, then went on to lose 4-3 against Braden Calvert (Winnipeg, MB). Hartung responded with a 7-5 win over Wayne Heikkinen (Calgary, AB). Hartung won 7-6 against Fredrik Nyman (Solletfeå, SWE), then won 6-3 against Mark Watt (Perth, SCO) to advance to the B-Qualifier where they 8-2 against Flasch to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.
 
Hartung earned 22.558 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Vesta Energy Curling Classic, remaining in 34th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 4.031 after improving upon their best so far this season. Hartung ranks 20th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 70.991 points earned so far this season.
