Thompson finished 2-1 in the 11-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Thompson defeated Travis Stone (Sydney, NS) 8-0, then went on to lose 4-3 against Jamie Stewart (Fredericton, NB). Thompson responded with a 5-4 win over Rene Comeau (Fredericton, NB) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Steele Cup Cash, Thompson take home 2.750 world rankings points along with the $1,500CDN prize.
