To advance to the championship game, Kaatz won 8-4 over Lisa McLeod (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2023 MCT Showdown in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada;
 
Kaatz finished 3-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kaatz defeated McLeod 10-3, then went on to lose 8-4 against Watling. Kaatz responded with a 6-0 win over Shae Bevan (Winnipeg, MB). Kaatz won 5-2 against Emma Jensen (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the MCT Showdown, Kaatz take home 2.750 world rankings points along with the $1,000CDN prize. Kaatz move up 3 spots after posting a net gain of 2 points improving upon their best 5 results so far this season, ranking 108th overall with 20.770 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Kaatz ranks 101st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 14.750 points earned so far this season.
