Thomas McGillivray (Winnipeg, MB) lost 7-2 to Jordon McDonald (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the MCT Showdown, held November 24 - 26, 2023 at the East St. Paul Curling Club in Winnipeg, Canada. To advance to the championship game, McGillivray won 6-5 over Emerson Klimpke (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals
 
McGillivray finished 3-1 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McGillivray defeated Sean Grassie (Winnipeg, MB) 6-1, then won 7-4 against Cyrus Brandt (Winnipeg, MB). McGillivray went on to lose 6-4 against Klimpke. McGillivray responded with a 6-4 win over Steve Irwin (Brandon, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the MCT Showdown, McGillivray take home 5.500 world rankings points along with the $1,500CDN prize, moving up 50 spots the World Ranking Standings into 178th place overall with 11.828 total points. McGillivray ranks 151st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 8.125 points earned so far this season.
