Yves Stocker (Glarus, SUI) finished 4-0 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Stocker defeated Eddy Mercier (Lyon, FRA) 6-3, then won 4-3 against Giacomo Colli (Trentino, ITA) and 6-3 against Steffen Walstad (Oslo, NOR) to advance to the A-Qualifier where they 7-0 against Joel Retornaz (Pinerolo, ITA) to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Grand Prix Bern Inter Curling Challenge Championship title, Stocker earned 33.965 world rankings points along with the $6,791CDN first prize cheque.
